The artist
Meet Anna Archinger, equine photographer
Anna Archinger is a self-taught German artist, born in 1994 and now based in Dronningmølle, Denmark. She has worked as a professional photographer since 2022.
She lives at Enggaarden, a riding education center that teaches the Academic Art of Riding. She calls the farm her open-air studio, and the horses around her, her muse.
Her work joins a long tradition of horses in art, from the studies of Leonardo da Vinci to the motion photographs of Eadweard Muybridge. Through it, she hopes to revive the bond between people and horses, and the freedom they stand for.

The work
Light, shadow and the shape of a horse
Every photograph was made among the horses she lives with in Denmark.

Two horses, one form
A dappled horse curves around a dark one until they read almost as an abstract.

The moment
Submission: the story behind the photograph
Two horses stand close. The sweeping body of a dappled horse frames a dark horse beneath it, and the lines between them become one shape.
It is trust, made visible, with almost nothing else in the frame. That is the moment Anna Archinger caught, and it is our most loved piece of hers.
People choose it for that closeness. A quiet strength, a bond you feel more than see, a room that holds its breath.

The black and white series
Black and white horse wall art: four portraits
Four photographs of contrast and form, from an intimate eye to two horses folded into one shape. Hang two, three or all four for a gallery wall with one calm story.
At home
Equestrian wall art for halls, studies and living rooms
Moody, sculptural and calm, these photographs bring quiet strength to a room.
In a hallway
Hang three in a row at eye level, as in the photo above. The series reads as one long breath.
In a study or library
Black frames with deep mats suit dark wood, leather and books.
In a bright living room
White frames lift the black and white, so the horses feel like sculpture on the wall.
