Meet Paula Ortega, film and digital photographer
Paula Ortega is a film and digital photographer based in San Sebastián, in the Basque Country. Her work is tied to the ocean, to movement and to the sense of freedom that travel gives.
Her prints are a personal archive of years spent in tropical places. Surfers, drifting boards and close encounters with nature, held between water, light and chance.
Alongside her own work, she shoots campaigns for international surf and swim brands, carrying the same natural, sun-soaked eye into every project.

Dive Deeper: the story behind the photograph
On the Amalfi Coast, deep blue water fills the frame. In the middle, just two feet and a burst of white spray. Someone has jumped, and the sea is closing over them.
