Meet Jake Ryan, linebacker turned photographer
Jake Ryan is a lifestyle photographer from Southern California. His passion for photography began while he was a student at the University of Michigan.
Before photography became his focus, he played linebacker for six seasons in the NFL, with the Green Bay Packers, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Baltimore Ravens.
He started with wildlife and landscapes and has since added portraits and lifestyle work. In 2022 he co-founded Huega House, a San Diego headwear and apparel brand named for the Danish idea of hygge.

The places

Too Close: the story behind the photograph
In Wyoming, a bison turns its head and holds still. Every curl of its coat, every line around its eye, sits close enough to touch.
It is strength at rest, the quiet spirit of the American West in one calm gaze. That is what Jake Ryan caught, and it is our most loved piece of his.
People choose it for that presence. A cabin, a study, a room that wants something steady and true.

Wildlife
Wildlife wall art: bison and bears
Three wildlife photographs, from a Wyoming bison to two Alaskan bears at the shore. Hang them together for a wall full of quiet power.
At home
Wildlife and coastal wall art for living rooms and cabins
Strong, earthy and calm, these photographs give a room its anchor.

Above the sofa
A wide piece like Rival, sized to about two-thirds of the sofa’s width, holds the whole wall.
In a cabin or study
Too Close sits well with wood, wool and leather. Heritage Walnut or Hickory brings out its earth tones.
On a gallery wall
Pair the wildlife pieces with a coastline like Safety or Play Anywhere for a wall that moves from land to sea.
