Meet Kirsty McQue, the photographer behind Kirsty In Motion
Kirsty McQue is a fine art underwater photographer. She is a certified freediver and scuba diver, and she photographs women in nature using only natural light.
Her work celebrates the ocean and the strength and vulnerability of women. Her underwater images are taken on one breath, and this collection grew from her own journey across the Indian Ocean.
Before the ocean, she produced music festivals in the UK. She moved to Australia in 2020. Her black and white work won a Silver at the 2024 Black & White Photography Awards.

We Are Infinite: the story behind the photograph
Off the coast of Bali, figures drift just beneath the surface. Light pours down through the water and turns everything amber.
Kirsty took it on one breath. For a few seconds there is no sound, no weight and nowhere to be, only light and the people moving through it.
People choose it for a bedroom or a quiet corner. It is a reminder to breathe out, slow down and let the day go soft.
