“Helm and Oar is next level. I’m definitely coming back again. I’ve bought artwork online before, but this quality is unmatched. The piece is absolutely stunning and super impressed by how rich and vibrant it looks, with so much attention to detail, and the framing feels really premium. I think this is the only store where I’ve seen a virtual preview option and it was so helpful in choosing the right size for my space. Honestly, such a smart feature. The whole experience was great- very clear communication and I got updates at every step. For anyone looking to buy artwork HELM & OAR is it. There is no competition.”

Meet Josh Wilson, a San Diego photographer of the coast
Josh Wilson was born in the Midwest and grew up on family road trips across the United States. Those years left him with a lasting feel for how light, landscape and atmosphere carry memory.
Now based in San Diego, he has also lived in St. Louis, London and Nashville, and has traveled widely through Europe. Josh Wilson Prints was founded in 2021. It is the home of his ongoing exploration of coastal destinations in Southern California, Hawaii, Italy, Greece, Spain, France and Australia.
His pictures favor natural light, balance and calm. Most are made on a Canon EOS R5, and a few earlier images come from older digital cameras or 35mm film. The aim, as his own site puts it, is imagery that invites pause.

On the kitchen wall, a summer in Capri joins the conversation.
II. The summers
Mediterranean summers, one coast at a time
Josh Wilson's portfolio spans Southern California, Hawaii, Italy, Greece, Spain, France and Australia. These four stops share one feeling: a summer better spent in company.

Cinque Terre, Italy
Josh Wilson counts Riomaggore among his favorites. The play of people leaping off the rocks and swimming in the harbor brings back the nostalgia of his Italian holiday.

La Fontelina II: the story behind the photograph
On Capri, rows of blue-and-white striped umbrellas step down a rugged limestone terrace toward the water. Josh Wilson photographed the La Fontelina beach club and restaurant from above. The whole afternoon reads at once: the color, the geometry, the clear Mediterranean below.
It is a picture of a long lunch that turns into a long afternoon: a swim, another glass, nobody checking the time. That is the afternoon you keep when it hangs in the room where your own people gather.
People rarely choose it for the geography. They choose it for what it says to everyone who walks in: stay a while, there is room at the table.

V. At home
Italy wall art for the dining room, and beyond
Sunlit, calm and a little nostalgic, these photographs warm up the rooms where people gather.

Above the dining table
Hang one large horizontal, like La Fontelina II, centered above the table or sideboard, sized to about two-thirds of its width. The blues carry across the room.
In the kitchen or open plan
Lovers In Capri suits a wall you see while cooking. Pale cabinets and warm wood both suit its cool sea tones.
On a gallery wall
Group three from the same coast. The sea repeats, and the summer builds from frame to frame.

On Capri, Italy. It is an aerial view of the La Fontelina beach club and restaurant, with blue-and-white striped umbrellas on limestone terraces above the Mediterranean.
Which Josh Wilson prints are Amalfi Coast and Capri wall art?
La Fontelina II, D'arienzo, Lovers In Capri and Good Vibes Only make up the Capri and Amalfi Coast group on this page. D'arienzo shows the beach at Positano.
