Meet Carly Tabak, landscape photographer
Carly Tabak is a landscape photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work is travel inspired, with a current focus on coastal living.
She grew up in Miami, moved to Northern California and began as a family and wedding photographer. When quarantine slowed that work, she finally had time for the landscape frames waiting in her portfolio, and the collection began.
Golden hour is her favorite time of day to shoot: the soft glow of pink and orange across the water, changing minute by minute. She lets the light and the subject decide the style of each frame.

II. The places
Coastlines, near and far
Every Carly Tabak photograph starts with a place she traveled to and a quality of light.

Santorini, Greece
A bell tower at sunrise, a seabird above the caldera, octopus drying in Ammoudi Bay. Four photographs from one island.
See the Santorini series
Encinitas, California
Golden-hour light, surfers in the water and swimmers leaping from the rocky shoreline into the Pacific.
See Surfs Up Encinitas
Mendocino, California
One of her favorite places, where she used to spend her summers. Bloom On The Coast catches wildflower season on the meadows and cliffs.

Carly grew up in Miami. Bikini Hangs, a row of colorful swimsuits on a sunlit white wall, brings that beach-town ease indoors.

Golden Greece: the story behind the photograph
At sunrise on Santorini, the light slips through the open arches of a whitewashed bell tower. For a moment the whole tower glows, gold against a pale sky and the quiet Aegean.
Golden hour is Carly Tabak's favorite time to photograph, and this is why. The light changes by the minute. The photograph keeps one of those minutes, long after the sun has moved on.
It is less a picture of a bell tower than a morning you can return to: coffee, quiet and nowhere to be. On the grayest afternoon, it is the warmest wall in the room.

V. At home
Coastal wall art for the living room, and beyond
Soft, warm and unhurried, these photographs settle into a room and change how it feels.

In the living room
Hang one large landscape above the sofa, sized to about two-thirds of its width. Soft golds and blues sit easily with linen, leather and wood.
In a bedroom
A quiet horizon, like Pink Skies or Surfs Up Santa Barbara, keeps a bedroom calm. Hang one above the bed.
On a gallery wall
Group three from the Santorini series. The light repeats, and the story builds from frame to frame.
