I. The artist
Meet Raisa Zwart, photographer from the Netherlands
Raisa Zwart is a travel, brand and portrait photographer from the Netherlands. She works around the world, and she says she is always by the sea.
On her way to becoming a lawyer, she found photography. She calls it love at first sight. She also works with a medium format camera, chosen for the timelessness and quality of the pictures.
Her stated aim is photographs that endure a lifetime, and longer. She invites people to fill an empty wall with the places they love, from colorful alleys to seascapes at golden hour.

II. The places
Where the photographs were made
Raisa Zwart works around the world. These four places show how far one wall can travel.

Santa Teresa, Costa Rica
A coastal town on the Pacific side of Costa Rica, and one of Raisa’s home bases. Five photographs in our collection were made here.

Marrakech, Morocco
In the artist’s words: a close up of a well known scene in Marrakech, with cacti in front of pastel colored walls.
See Coral Cactus
The Algarve Coast, Portugal
Golden cliffs rise above a sandy beach and a deep blue sea in The Portugal Coast, bathed in warm natural light.

Sayulita, Mexico
Board Shack lines up colorful surfboards for the next wave. Mamacita sets a row of tall cacti against a warm terracotta wall.

Santa Teresa Mornings: the first piece on a wall that grows
Seabirds soar above rolling Pacific waves and a rocky shoreline, beneath a softly glowing sky. The palette is muted ocean blue, warm stone and delicate peach.
It is a calm photograph that does not ask a room to change around it. That makes it a good first piece, and an easy one to build on when you are ready for a second place.
People rarely choose it for the birds. They choose it for the slow morning it holds, and for what that morning means to them. The wall around it may change. This photograph moves with you.

V. At home
Travel wall art for the living room, and beyond
Sun-warmed, relaxed and a little adventurous, these photographs make a room feel lived in and well traveled.

Start with one
Hang a single piece where you pass it every day, like a hallway or the wall above the sofa. Size it to about two-thirds of the furniture below it.
Add the next place
A second photograph from somewhere new can share the wall with the first. Keep the frame the same, and the mix looks planned.
Let it move
Taste changes, and rooms change with it. A frame you chose years ago can move to the entryway, the bedroom or the guest room and keep working.
